The HYDEA project, led by ITG | Centro Tecnológico and co-funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, attended the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2026, held in Brussels from 9 to 11 June. The project was showcased at a joint exhibition stand organised by the Interact Programme, which brought together 14 Interreg programmes and projects to highlight successful cooperation initiatives and investments delivering tangible results across Europe.
Under the theme “A Clean, Secure and Competitive Energy Union”, EUSEW 2026 provided a valuable platform to demonstrate how Interreg cooperation is supporting the energy transition through renewable energy solutions, local innovation, and the development of more resilient territories. The event highlighted the crucial role of collaborative projects in advancing Europe's sustainability and energy objectives.
HYDEA contributes directly to these goals by promoting the decarbonisation of Atlantic Area ports through greater energy efficiency and the integration of clean energy solutions, particularly hydrogen. The project supports the adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable practices to speed the transition to greener, more resilient port ecosystems and a low-carbon maritime sector.
Participation in EUSEW 2026 offered an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge with stakeholders from across Europe, strengthen cooperation networks, and showcase HYDEA’s contribution to a more sustainable energy future.
