The renowned Supertubos Beach, in the Oeste Region of Portugal and also known as a European Pipeline, and the Peniche High Performance Surf Center welcomed the Atlantic partners for the launch of the iSURFATLANTIC project, connecting Portugal, Spain, France, and Ireland around a shared vision for sustainable and inclusive surfing.

The Kick-off meeting of the project, led by OesteCIM and supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, included networking moments, presentation of the project’s objectives, technical exchanges among partners, and discussions on inclusion and adaptive surfing.

The iSURFATLANTIC project is working on the first Sustainable and Inclusive Transnational Surf Tourism Route, covering the Oeste Region, in Portugal, Strandhill, in Ireland, Lacanau, in France, and Cantabria, in Spain. By addressing shared challenges, such as environmental pressures, seasonal instability, and unequal accessibility, the project aims to position the Atlantic Region as a leading destination for sustainable and universally accessible surf tourism.
