The ATLIC – Atlantic InnoBlue Communities project, led by the Municipality of Santo Tirso and funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, has published Empowering Youth Innovation in the Blue Economy, a book that brings together the knowledge, experiences and methodologies developed throughout the project to strengthen young people's role in the Blue Economy.

Presented in Brussels as a White Paper on Youth Entrepreneurship and edited by the French partner L'École de design Nantes Atlantique, the publication represents a key legacy of the ATLIC project. It highlights how the future of the Blue Economy depends on empowering the next generation with the skills, networks and opportunities needed to develop sustainable and innovative solutions.

Combining research findings, practical tools, real-life experiences and inspiring case studies from across the Atlantic Area, the book showcases approaches that support youth engagement and entrepreneurship in marine and maritime sectors.

The publication also demonstrates how young people can become powerful drivers of change in coastal and rural communities by fostering entrepreneurship, sustainability, social innovation and new opportunities linked to the Blue Economy.
