The HYDEA project, led by Centro Tecnológico EnergyLab and supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, has launched its third open call to provide access to experimental facilities and specialised expertise across the Atlantic Region. The call aims to support the development and testing of innovative pre-commercial technologies.
This initiative is designed to help researchers, startups and innovators advance new solutions by offering access to infrastructure and technical support from HYDEA project partners in four Atlantic countries:
Spain: Fundación Instituto Tecnológico de Galicia (ITG); Autoridad Portuaria de Vigo (APV); Autoridad Portuaria de Sevilla (APS)
Portugal: Universidade do Porto (UPorto); Administração dos Portos do Douro, Leixões e Viana do Castelo (APDL)
France: France Energies Marines (FEM); Évolution Synergetique Automotive (EVO); Brest Port (PBrest)
Ireland: National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI); HIVE Hydrogen (HIVE)
Applications will undergo a thorough evaluation by an independent selection panel composed of experts in the project’s core thematic areas, alongside representatives of the HYDEA partnership. Proposals will be assessed based on scientific excellence, technological feasibility and market potential, with priority given to solutions that demonstrate strong integration capacity within port environments.
Deadline for applications: 31 March 2026

About HYDEA
HYDEA is designed to carry out pilot tests for the use of hydrogen and methanol as alternative energy sources in port fleets and vehicles. By integrating renewable energy and innovative marine technologies into port operations, the project supports the transition to clean energy in Atlantic Area ports and contributes to the decarbonisation of the maritime sector.
