Members of the ARMA Network, a platform of Atlantic Region Managing Authorities led by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, met last week with representatives of the European Commission to discuss the mid-term review of the 2021–2027 programming cycle and to present ongoing consultations for the upcoming period. The exchange focused on key themes such as housing, energy, and strategic technologies, drawing on cooperation experiences from across the Atlantic regions.

The meeting brought together representatives from European funding programmes in the Atlantic regions of France, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain. It took place during the Atlantic Days in Galway (Ireland), a week dedicated to showcasing European-funded projects that contribute to the sustainable development, innovation, and cohesion of the Atlantic Region, fully aligned with the mission of the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme.

The agenda also featured presentations on the GRAAL project, the Programme’s strategic operation, as well as an update on the cooperation activities of the Northern and Western Regional Assembly of Ireland. In addition, the Portuguese Development and Cohesion Agency (AD&C) shared insights on the intersection between EU funds and artificial intelligence, highlighting emerging opportunities for improved governance and efficiency.
