The Interreg Atlantic Area programme attends the Workshop Transnational Interreg programmes: strengthening cooperation in Macro-regions and Sea basins, promoted on the 24th of September, under the Macro-regional (MES) & Sea Basin Strategies (SBS) Days 2025. Taking advantage of the presence of representatives from European regions, pillar coordinators, stakeholders, and representatives of European institutions, Interreg Atlantic Area will share its experience in building and leading the ARMA – Atlantic Region Managing Authorities network.

Participants are invited to reflect on current successes, identify areas for joint improvement, and generate ideas for stronger collaboration. A key feature of the session will be an interactive discussion with Macro-regional and Sea Basin strategies stakeholders, ensuring a collaborative approach to future improvements.

Background
As outlined in the Post 2027 policy discussions, the future Cohesion Policy is expected to align closely with EU-wide priorities such as competitiveness, security, and resilience. Achieving these objectives will require strong and practical coordination and cooperation, areas where MRS, SBS, and Interreg TN programmes play a crucial role.
