Deputación Provincial de Ourense, Spanish partner of the POST project, is inviting 25 young entrepreneurs to take part in the Smart Polycentric Tourism Hackathon. The event will focus on developing ideas and prototypes that activate underutilised tourism resources by integrating culture, nature, and the circular economy through digital tools and sustainable methods.
Supported by Interreg Atlantic Area, the hackathon will reward the three best ideas with €1,500 each and a tailored mentoring service.
Interested participants should submit their applications by 10 October. From 13 to 24 October, selected entrepreneurs will work in teams, guided by mentors and experts at each stage of the process. The event will culminate on 25 October in Ourense, where teams will intensively prototype their solutions, refine their presentations, and pitch to a jury.
This initiative builds on the POST project’s earlier activities, such as the hackathon held in Braga (Portugal) last June, and a regional exchange and learning event hosted by the Irish partner, the Atlantic Technological University, about ‘How can we encourage visitors to stay for longer/ visit more places/ add value to local communities’.
The project also has other upcoming events like the one promoted by PETR Ouest Charente – Pays du Cognac along the Charente River. Together, these actions aim to promote innovative, sustainable tourism across the Atlantic Area.
