On 9 October 2025, the Fleuve Hackathon will be held at the Hôtel l’Yeuse in Châteaubernard (France), bringing together participants from across France for a full day dedicated to developing innovative, sustainable tourism solutions along the Charente River.

Organised by the PETR Ouest Charente – Pays du Cognac, the event encourages multidisciplinary collaboration to create tourism products aimed at families and the wider public. Projects will be expected to address environmental resilience and showcase the region’s cultural and natural assets.

The programme kicks off with an online morning session to introduce the territory, share local tourism data, and outline key sustainability challenges. The in-person hackathon will then focus on co-creation, where participants—supported by expert coaches—will develop concrete proposals to present to a panel of professionals.

Open to students, entrepreneurs, developers, designers, and professionals from sectors such as tourism, sustainability, communication, and digital technologies, the hackathon promotes both individual and team participation. Teams can be formed in advance or on-site.

Outstanding proposals will be recognised through awards, with additional opportunities for visibility among stakeholders and inclusion into local tourism strategies.

POST - Polycentric Sustainable Tourism

The Fleuve Hackathon forms part of the POST project, supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme. The project promotes a more balanced and climate-resilient tourism model by encouraging the development of inland destinations and reducing pressure on overvisited areas.
