Young people from France, Ireland, Portugal and Spain will gather in Donegal from 10 to 12 March for the International Creative Jam 2026, an international event promoted by the ATLIC project. Led by the Município de Santo Tirso and supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, the event provides a space for young participants to discuss and co-create solutions linked to Blue Economy opportunities across the Atlantic Region.

Now in its third edition, the International Creative Jam brings together young people from the Azores, Galicia, Brittany and Donegal to share innovative proposals that position the Atlantic as a strategic resource. Over three days, participants will engage directly with key challenges facing Atlantic territories, including island communities and rural inland areas, with a focus on marine sustainability, employment opportunities, social innovation and territorial cohesion.

More than 100 participants will take part in a large-scale ideation laboratory, grounded in scientific knowledge related to the Blue Economy and supported by participatory and creative methodologies. This collaborative environment enables the translation of scientific and technical knowledge into concrete, accessible and territorially relevant proposals, with young people leading the co-creation process.

The International Creative Jam 2026 also aims to send a clear message: more initiatives are needed that give young people a genuine voice in shaping Europe’s future. By providing meaningful spaces for participation, projects like ATLIC demonstrate that when young people are trusted, they respond with creativity, responsibility and a strong vision for sustainable development in the Atlantic Area.
