On 14–15 January 2026, the Impact4Mar project was formally launched during its kick-off meeting in Athlone, Ireland. Hosted by Impact4Mar’s Lead Partner, the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and held as a hybrid event, the meeting brought together all project partners to initiate implementation activities and establish a shared understanding of the project’s objectives, methodologies and expectations.

During the meeting, partners reviewed the overall work plan and aligned on priorities across the project’s three work packages. These focus on analysing existing sustainability practices and gaps in the maritime sector, developing practical assessment tools to support maritime SMEs, and ensuring the effective capitalization and uptake of project results.

The kick-off meeting marked an important milestone in coordinating partner efforts and confirming next steps. Following this initial phase, the project is now advancing stakeholder mapping activities and preparing interviews, laying the foundations for the development and testing of Impact4Mar tools.
