Researchers, practitioners, policymakers and stakeholders interested in maritime heritage, coastal development and blue tourism are invited to take part in the international scientific congress“Architectures of the Sea: Atlantic Ocean”, taking place in A Coruña, Spain, from 28 to 31 October 2026. The event is organised within the framework of the SEALabHaus project.

The congress proposes a new perspective on the Atlantic Area by shifting the focus from land-based approaches to the sea as a shared transnational space. Participants will explore how maritime heritage, coastal infrastructure, tourism dynamics and environmental challenges shape Atlantic territories and communities.

By bringing together researchers, professionals and organisations from across the Atlantic Area, the congress seeks to strengthen knowledge exchange and contribute to more sustainable and inclusive approaches to coastal management and maritime heritage valorisation.

The SEALabHaus project promotes cooperation and knowledge-sharing around Atlantic maritime heritage and blue tourism. Through research, stakeholder engagement and transnational collaboration, the project aims to enhance the understanding, preservation and promotion of maritime cultural assets while supporting sustainable development opportunities in coastal regions.
