On 15 September, at the University of Las Palmas, the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, in close cooperation with the Atlantic Stakeholders Platform Conference and the Interact Programme, will promote a joint event focused on the important role of young people in shaping Atlantic cooperation.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that project promoters have come together to discuss the challenges and opportunities linked to Blue Synergies, and the first time the focus will be placed on the contribution young people can make to the future of cooperation projects in the Atlantic Region.
This year’s session builds on the Youth Voices in the Atlantic consultation and aims to move beyond ad hoc consultation and engagement with young people towards exploring opportunities to establish a long-term youth exchange platform. The idea for such a platform emerged during discussions with young participants at the Blue Synergies Event organised as part of the Atlantic Days in Galway on 12 November 2025. Such a platform could help ensure continuous advisory and active engagement in Atlantic cooperation, while representing the views of young citizens across a range of societal processes.
Further details on the agenda and practical arrangements will be published in due course. Stakeholders from across the Atlantic area are warmly invited to save the date and join this important moment for enhanced sea-basin cooperation.
