Under the umbrella of SaferSea, a project supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme, the innovative startup Savearth was selected as a finalist in ClimateLaunchpad, the world’s largest green business ideas competition. The National final, promoted by the Portuguese partner UPTEC, took place in Matosinhos (Portugal), gathering pioneering climate solutions from across the globe.
Savearth developed an AI-powered intelligent shower system that helps hotels reduce water consumption by up to 60%. This solution promotes efficient use of natural resources, reducing the environmental impact of infrastructures located in coastal areas and contributing to sustainability and climate change mitigation by lowering water consumption.
This recognition aligns with the broader mission of SaferSea, which seeks to raise awareness and provide practical solutions for a safer, greener maritime sector. As maritime traffic continues to increase in the Atlantic Ocean, SaferSea promotes the development of eco-friendly technologies for ships and ports, while strengthening collaboration between key players—shipowners, port authorities, researchers, and startups.
By supporting startups like Savearth, the SaferSea project contributes to building a more sustainable and innovative maritime future, where climate-conscious solutions are not just encouraged, but implemented at scale.
