The European Commission has released the results of stakeholder and citizen and consultations about Interreg Post 2027. This process went on to involve numerous consultation events, surveys and interviews.

The Interreg Atlantic Area programme contributed to the Harvesting Report, covering the recommendations received from stakeholders and citizens on how to improve the lives of those living and working in the Atlantic Region. Particular effort was made to involve young people.

The consultation reports assert that Interreg delivers substantial value and fosters positive change by enhancing knowledge exchange, building lasting connections among communities, addressing complex challenges, and promoting resilience with sensitivity to territorial specifics. This message was strongly reinforced at the Interreg GO! event, where speakers, including Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms, emphasised the vital role of territorial cooperation.

The contact with stakeholders and citizens addressed different areas like climate change, the environment, economic competitiveness, public services and quality of life as well as newer areas of activity such as safety and security.
