The lead partner of the DigiATLA project, supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, hosted the partnership kick-off meeting at the S2AQUA facilities in Olhão, Portugal.

Partners from Portugal, Spain, France and Ireland met to review the project’s objectives and expected results, with a shared focus on contributing to new strategies to enhance aquaculture performance across the Atlantic Area.

The project’s investment includes the development of digital training programmes, an online knowledge repository, pilot demonstration activities, and awareness-raising initiatives linked to the adoption of Industry 4.0 solutions. The project will benefit aquaculture professionals, researchers and educational communities.

The kick-off meeting concluded with a technical visit to the Olhão Fish Farming Pilot Station, a facility covering approximately 7 hectares within the Ria Formosa Natural Park, in the Algarve.
