The AQUAFISH project, funded by Interreg Atlantic Area, launched a new app to engage readers with various species found in aquaculture and bycatch, as well as some of their often-undervalued by-products.

Available in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French, the new app provides users with valuable information on a range of aquaculture species, including production data, commercial sizes, nutritional value, and culinary applications. Aquafish Chef features a growing collection of recipes designed to make the most of seafood resources, supporting a zero-waste philosophy and encouraging more sustainable consumption.

By connecting scientific knowledge, gastronomy, and sustainability, this tool helps raise awareness of the potential of aquaculture products while promoting circular economy principles across the seafood value chain.

The new app was designed by ARDITI with the contribution of the project's lead partner, CTAQUA Centro Tecnológico de Acuicultura, as well as Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), S2AQUAcoLAB and L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers.
