Three European projects supported by Interreg Atlantic Area — Blue Shuttle, Aquafish 0.0, and SaferSEA — will take part in European Maritime Day in My Country 2025 through the event “Camino de la Eficiencia, Sostenibilidad y Tecnología en el Crecimiento Azul”, held on 10 June in Conil de la Frontera (Cádiz, Spain).
The event, organised by CTAQUA, CEEI Bahía de Cádiz, and the IEDT of the Diputación de Cádiz, will bring together experts, companies, and institutions working in marine biotechnology, aquaculture, fisheries, ports, and maritime innovation. It aims to promote knowledge exchange and highlight how science and technology contribute to a more efficient and sustainable Blue Economy.
Participants will explore EU-funded initiatives supporting sustainable marine growth. Two roundtables will address key sector challenges:
- Technification and digitalisation in the marine value chain
- The broader contribution of the marine sector to sustainability
Held at La Chanca, a cultural and marine interpretation centre in Conil, the event forms part of the European Maritime Day 2025 programme, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of oceans and the maritime sector across Europe.
