The President of Ireland
endorses the Atlantic InnoBlue Communities

The President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly, officially opened the 1st International Creative Jam in Killybegs, an event promoted under theĀ ATLIC projectĀ to highlight the importance of youth entrepreneurship. Supported by theĀ Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, the event brought together young entrepreneurs based in peripheral territories from Atlantic regions across Ireland, France, Spain, and Portugal to collaborate, exchange ideas, and develop solutions for the Blue Economy.

Consultation
Young Voices for the Atlantic

TheĀ Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, together with theĀ GRAAL Project, a strategic partnership aimed at increasing the Programme’s impact, has launched theĀ consultation "Young Voices for the Atlantic". Committed to laying the foundations for the possible establishment of an Atlantic Youth Platform – a space for young people to share ideas, collaborate, and propose projects to support the development of European Atlantic regions –, the Programme and its partners aim to listen directly to young people’s perspectives and ideas.Ā

Task force launched
to plan Interreg Atlantic Area 2028–2034

The new Chair of the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, Álvaro Santos, opened the first meeting of the programme's Member States to prepare the next cycle 2028-2034. In what was his first speech since taking up his new position, Álvaro Santos underlined the total commitment of CCDR-Norte to this Programme and the Managing Authority's absolute dedication to its current and future implementation. Launched in the 2000-2006 framework, the Managing Authority has been based at CCDR Norte, in Portugal, since the 2007-2013 framework.

AOFFTECH

boosts Atlantic Floating Wind

The Galician association for metal industries, ASIME, leads theĀ AOFFTECH project, launched last February. Cofunded by theĀ Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, the investment aims to accelerate decarbonization, strengthen European energy independence, and promote a genuine energy transition through strong public–private collaboration across the Atlantic regions.Ā By 2028, the consortium will present a transnational strategy for the emerging offshore renewable energy sector.

ACTIV-N protects vulnerable communities from Atlantic environmental risks

The University of Vigo launched theĀ ACTIV-N projectĀ at its Ourense Campus. Supported by theĀ Interreg Atlantic Area Programme,Ā ACTIV-NĀ aims to promote innovative mechanisms to protect vulnerable populations facing extreme environmental risks across Atlantic regions, including floods, wildfires, and droughts.Ā The project partnership initiated its work through a series of collaborative workshops designed to establish a common framework for key topics.
