This event officially kicks off GRAAL (Governance and Regional Atlantic Area Lighthouse), an Interreg Atlantic Area project focused on enhancing governance in Atlantic regions by capitalising on the results of past and current EU-funded projects, improving their uptake in public policies, and supporting future cooperation across key challenges. The agenda includes keynotes from DG REGIO and Interreg authorities, an introduction to GRAAL, and interactive case studies focused on GRAAL's thematics (marine energy, ocean pollution, disaster risk prevention, nature preservation, and sustainable tourism). Take part in the launch event, promoted under the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025. Registrations open! |

Skills for the Future of the Atlantic Maritime Sector |
|
The project BLUESKILLING INNOVATION, supported by Interreg Atlantic Area, analysed disparities and common findings within the maritime sector across the Atlantic Region. Its study, “Analysis of skills gaps and needs to boost blue innovation in shipbuilding and the offshore supply chain”, identifies both shared priorities and persistent challenges. Energy transition, digitalisation, and blue innovation stand out as collective goals, though their pace and scope of implementation differ from France, Ireland, Portugal and Spain. |

UN Ocean Decade Endorses DiadSea Project for Sustainable Fisheries |
|
The DiadSea project, supported by Interreg Atlantic Area, has been officially endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade. This recognition comes under the programme “Fisheries Strategies for Changing Oceans and Resilient Ecosystems by 2030,”. Representing regions from Portugal, France, Spain, and Ireland, DiadSea focuses on improving the management and conservation of diadromous migratory fish in the Atlantic Ocean. These species live in both fresh and saltwater and are particularly vulnerable to climate change, requiring shared and cross-border solutions. |
