Interreg Cooperation Day | Atlantic Sunset – the latest in Europe |

The European Atlantic Sunset project, led by the Spanish partner CEER Foundation and supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme, marks the Interreg Cooperation Day 2025 with a public session to present the unique characteristics of the sunsets in the Atlantic regions and demonstrate how sunsets can capitalized on the value of the West Coast. The public session takes place on 19th of September, at 19:30 (local time), in the symbolic Plaza Stephen Hawking, in Finisterre, close to one of the westernmost points on continental Europe and a final destination of pilgrims from the St James Way. |

Transnational programmes exhibit at the European Week of Regions and Cities |

The 13 European transnational programmes for cooperation, including Interreg Atlantic Area, present the stand 'Transnational cooperation: building solidarity, driving synergies & delivering change’, at the European Week of Regions and Cities. The exhibition takes place at the Square Brussels – Grand Hall 2, on 14 and 15 October, from 9:30 to 18:00 CET. It intends to be a meeting point for the representatives of the transnational programmes and our partners or potential partners. |

11 Promoters in a Maritime Decarbonisation Acceleration Programme |

The European project SMARTDEC – Smart Clusters for Maritime Decarbonisation, co-financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area programme, selected 11 promoters with investments in the decarbonisation of maritime transport for a tailored acceleration programme, aiming to strengthen the maturity of their solutions and support their contribution to a more sustainable and competitive European maritime transport sector. The selected initiatives address diverse themes like electrification, digital green solutions, energy efficiency and alternative fuels. |

HYDEA identifies opportunities for the hydrogen economy in Atlantic Ports |
|
The HYDEA project, supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area, launched a new report to identify opportunities for the development of the hydrogen economy in Atlantic Ports, namely in Brest (France), Leixões (Portugal), Vigo and Seville (Spain). It concludes that the pilot ports could play a strategic role in the hydrogen supply chain, facilitating regional distribution and contributing to the development of a broader hydrogen economy. |
