5th Atlantic Stakeholder Conference
23-24 October 2018, Pazo de Congresos Mar de Vigo (Spain)
Interreg Atlantic Area participated on these 2-days conference by organising a Plenary Session dedicated to the contribution of this programme to the Atlantic Action Plan and a workshop with the participation of projects MOSES and SAFER. These two projects presented good investment practices to the blue economy in skills, employment and innovation. The programme was also present on the exhibition to promote its activities and funded projects.
The 3rd edition of the Atlantic Project Awards 2018 awarded the Atlantic Area project EBB (European Blue Biotechnology), on category 'Atlantic Marine and Coastal Environment'. The EBB project coordinated by University of Vigo is the first global initiative proposing transnational coordination at the practical and long-term level of marine biobanks, thus helping to make a European initiative, the European Centre for Marine Biological Resources (EMBRC), a global reference for the study of marine biology and ecology.
The European Commission recognizes, through various categories, the best initiatives aligned with the priorities of the Atlantic Strategy and its action plan in areas such as entrepreneurship and innovation, marine environment and coastal Atlantic, accessibility, connectivity and sustainability and international cooperation.
The 5th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference is an annual event that gathers stakeholders of the Atlantic Strategy who aim to meet, seek ways of cooperation, share information and identify financial opportunities and partnerships for their projects and businesses.
