SAFER project holds their final event at the European Maritime Day in Brest

A debate on the role of Industry 5.0 to support a more responsible seafood sector is on the agenda of this event

We are delighted to invite you to the SAFER partnership's final event, which will take place on 24-25 May 2023 in Brest, Bretagne-France. The event will coincide with the European Maritime Day 2023 celebrations, and we look forward to welcoming you to our workshop titled "Industry 5.0: Towards a responsible seafood sector" on Wednesday, 24 May 2023, from 16:15 to 17:30 (local time).

The objective of this workshop is to explore the potential of Industry 5.0 in promoting a more sustainable and responsible seafood sector. Industry 5.0 represents a holistic approach to industrial production that aims to promote worker well-being and social prosperity while respecting planetary boundaries. The seafood industry, with its complex web of human and environmental factors, is an ideal case study for the application of this concept.

The Atlantic Area Managing Authority representative, Sandra Tavares da Silva, will attend this event to present the main guidelines of the new programme.

The workshop will also serve as the final physical meeting for the SAFER partnership, which has been active since 2017. This will be an opportunity for us to reflect on our achievements and discuss our next steps towards promoting a more sustainable and responsible seafood sector.

We also invite you to register at the EMDay until the 19th of May and take the opportunity to meet other Atlantic stakeholders.

Save the date, and we look forward to seeing you in Brest!
