Geoatlantic project finalist at EnerTIC Awards
Recognition of the importance of new models of political management for the sustainability of the European space
Geoatlantic project, led by the City Council of Ourense, was a finalist at the EnerTIC Awards 2018, promoted by the EnerTIC Platform dedicated to the promotion of Technology and Innovation for the improvement of Energy Efficiency and Sustainability at national level. The project applied to Smart eGovernment category, being this status a recognition of the importance of new models of political management for the sustainability of the European space.
Geoatlantic, funded by Interreg Atlantic Area, aims to promote the use of geothermal energy in the communities through the joint development of tools and methodologies that make possible the creation of favourable local ecosystems, both for heat and power. The partnership is composed of 12 institutions from the 5 Members States and has a total budget of 2.8 million euros.
